cafe series: one

Winter means THE CAFE SERIES IS BACK! Excited capital letters! They are such a rad little series of intimate gigs around Adelaide, always a pleasure to be involved in.  Organised by Jam Room superstar and generous soul, Alice Fraser, the first of the new series was held at Cafe Troppo the other week. I was lucky enough to capture the action! Here are some of my favourites, starring Sasha March and Woodlock.

toki and hendrix

A little while back I hung out with this gorgeous little family in the Adelaide Hills. Lauren and Sam have two sweet little boys (with rad names!) Toki and Hendrix. Her mum contacted me to take some updated photos of the whole gang, including Lauren’s brother – a morning filled with lemons and limes, chocolate eggs and the sweetest monkey hat! It was wonderful to spend time in a family filled with so much love, and I can’t wait to photograph Lauren and Sam’s wedding soon(ish) too!

jasmine + tom

Jasmine and Tom’s wedding was a perfect celebration of two lovely, genuine people. There was a whole lot of German dancing, forest adventures, amazing flowers and more dancing. The best! I just had to share their day with you, it was a delight and privilege to be involved! xx

baby elsa

Over two years ago I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family when I photographed baby Ashlynn. It was lovely to be invited back, this time to meet and hang out with beautiful two-week-old Elsa. It was wonderful and slightly surreal to watch Ashlynn all grown-up and looking after her baby sister! They are such a beautiful little family. x

jess + simon

About eighteen months ago the lovely Jess had her first solo art show, which is a big enough deal at the best of times. It just so happened that, that very same night, her brother introduced her to Simon, and, well, that was that!

I felt very humbled and lucky to be able to spend time with them on their wedding day, held at the stunning Wairoa in the Adelaide Hills. The day was filled with Jess’s art in many forms (you need to see her awesome work if you haven’t already), from the invites and programmes to the many pieces dotted through her parent’s house. Jess’s signature painted pots were lovingly recreated by a clever friend in cake-form (beyond amazing – all 130 of them!)

They had the loveliest friends and family surrounding them for their just-perfect celebration of love, with their two little flower girls totally stealing the show! So much love for these two.

at home: part 4

The first home I was lucky enough to photograph this year belongs to two amazing people – Dan and Amanda from E for Ethel. Their house has the same homely, colourful vibe as their wonderful shop (which you need to visit if you haven’t already) with plenty of pieces from Ethel artists making it onto their walls as well as lots of great retro finds! Such an sweet place!

kate + luke

Here’s just some of the awesomeness that went down at Kate and Luke’s wedding:

Handmade wedding dress!
Star Wars figurines and dinosaurs!
Ukulele solo!
Smudgy red lipstick kisses!

It was such an amazing day, one that is very close to my heart.
To say that Kate and Luke had a rough year would be putting it lightly, with Kate’s parents sadly passing away a few weeks apart from each other. In true Kate and Luke style though, they made their day a beautiful celebration of love and family, and as Kate put it, a time to celebrate new beginnings. Kate’s uncle walked her down the aisle and I don’t think he could have been prouder.

There were tears but so much laughter too, I am so grateful to have been a part of it.
